Coastal Drive along Hermanus and Gansbaai
Cape Town’s coastline between Hermanus and Gansbaai is renowned for its exceptional ocean views and dramatic mountain backdrops. This day trip starts early in the morning, when we pick you up to begin our scenic drive to Gordon’s Bay, reaching Clarence Scenic Drive, where the Whale Route starts. With the Hottentots Holland Mountains on one side of the road and the vast Atlantic Ocean on the other, it’s easily considered one of the best wellness retreats in scenic locations that we offer.
The first stop on this tour is the charming village of Rooi Els, a natural gem home to incredible seascapes, fynbos, and animals. We then head to Betty’s Bay, where you can explore the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens or unwind and enjoy a coffee surrounded by peaceful natural beauty. We continue our adventure by heading to Gansbaai for an exhilarating Marine Big Five Safari experience on a two-hour boat trip. Witness majestic whales and playful dolphins in the ocean, and observe penguins and various marine birds enjoying their natural habitat.
As far as adventure wellness escapes go, you’ll find this experience to be truly remarkable. Once the boat safari ends, we head towards Hermanus, a picturesque town along the sea that has a vibrant atmosphere. Enjoy a leisurely late lunch at a lovely restaurant, before driving back to your hotel past Theewaterskloof Dam and over the scenic Sir Lowry’s Pass, offering panoramic views of the region.
